Commodore Hotel Busan
Jung-gu, Busan • Hotel
A space with oriental beauty - A hotel that started in 1979. I often went to Nampo-dong when I was a child, so I came across this place by chance while widening the scope of my sights. At the time, I was impressed with the movie 'Chihiro Sen and Chihiro', so I still remember the building I saw in a short moment as I passed by on the bus. I didn't know that at the time, so I thought it was Korean architecture as long as there were tiles on it. And a long time has passed since I studied the space. - This building suddenly came to mind. I wanted to stay for a day since I came to Busan. - This space has an interesting story. Australian architect George Frew was interested in oriental architecture and designed it in Busan. It is an oriental building built in Busan by a western architect with an interest in oriental architecture. Moreover, it is an approach that completely breaks the frame of oriental architecture based on wood. This is because if you go to wood, you can't raise it with the same area as this high-rise in the first place. - Also, although this building has the title of 'a first-class hotel utilizing Korean beauty', strictly speaking, it is a bit disappointing to say that it preserves Korean beauty because it shows the appearance of ancient Chinese architecture at first glance. So, to be precise, it is more accurate to say that the 'Oriental beauty' was saved. - In any case, you can't help but admire the overwhelming impression this building gives you at the entrance. I swallowed such admiration and went in to check in. - It's a bit more Korean when you go inside. You can see Korean patterns and materials, as well as those borrowed from the grate patterns in the rooms. Even the hallway made by stacking bricks can be seen clearly that each and every effort was put into construction. - The exterior is so overwhelming, but the interior is meticulously maintained without neglecting it. It was like being in an oriental novel with a strong scent, probably because the theme was well maintained from the appreciation of the outside to the space inside. - Wouldn't it be a good date to stop by this place where you can see the port of Busan if you get the direction of the room as it is located on a hill in Jung-gu, Busan, and get drunk in the atmosphere of the day? - This is the #Commodore Hotel in Busan, a castle filled with oriental beauty. - Location _ 151 Junggu-ro, Jung-gu, Busan - Parking available - Check-in 14, Check-out 12 - PS.
