SLOW STEADY CLUB (TERMINAL)
Yeongdeungpo Station, Seoul • Shop
Following the “One Can’t Survive” feed, the Get That Shot decorated the first floor of Lotte Department Store in Yeongdeungpo, and on the other side, there is a place that catches the eye with achromatic colors. The mysterious white space is divided into three themes: cafe, life, and clothing. This is the third space of 'Slow Steady Club', a hot place for fashion people in Samcheong-dong and Seoul Forest. The composition that organically connects the select shop-gallery-cafe has already received attention at the Samcheong-dong main store. A strategy to make even those who are not willing to buy clothes come to a cafe or a gallery with other demands. The reason and texture of the 'complex cultural spaces' are similar these days. Although its original business is to sell clothes, it is a one stone two pair of attracting other demand such as F&B and exhibitions to create a potential customer base, and providing fresh experiences to existing customers to improve the brand image. A little wider, the behavior of department stores these days seems to be aimed at a complex cultural space rather than a shopping space. The enriched food court attracts popular restaurants to create waiting, and there are exhibition spaces and photo zones in the lobby, and it is changing into a space that opens a wallet (?) where everyone can enjoy by creating experiences. . It sounds ironic to say that a complex cultural space is created within a complex cultural space, but the saying 'you can't survive with just one' seems to apply not only to people but also to stores.
