Inwangsan Shelter in the woods
Jongno-gu, Seoul • Culture
I wanted to climb Mt. Inwang. This is thanks to the fact that the place that had been used as a military post for over 50 years at the foot of Inwangsan has been transformed into a shelter and bookstore for citizens and opened as a public building. (Picture 1-2) Inwangsan 3-minute-cho Shelter The Inwangsan Shelter, scheduled to open this month, attracts attention with its stunning architectural beauty that can only be seen in foreign interior magazines. The space is expanded horizontally on the all-glass exterior wall, and the cool mountain scenery of Inwangsan and the view of the lush forest spreads out in a panoramic view. The concrete pillars and roof supporting the building are used as they are, but the interior is made of wood, adding a cozy atmosphere. (Picture 3-8) Inwangsan Checkpoint Bookstore Thesup Checkpoint Bookstore Thesup also boasts a panoramic view and has become a favorite place for not only local residents but also many people. While most cafes are dominated by the younger generation, The Soup Cho Bookshop was particularly warm to see the elderly sitting together and having a good time. 📍 How to get to the 3-minute-cho shelter in Inwangsan Mountain If you climb the stairs to the Inwangsan hiking trail from across the road from The Forest Post Bookshop (about 10 minutes), you will see the wall of Hanyangdoseong Fortress. If you go to the left here, you will face the 3-minute-second shelter. 📍 The Soup Choso Bookstore ✔️ add. 172, Inwangsan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul ✔️ insta. @chosochaekbang ✔️ 🚘 Parking available (but it is often full and it is recommended to take a taxi as it causes congestion on the road)
