“A space that gives you a good experience”
-
Some say that architecture belongs to engineering because it has to stand stably against gravity, while others say that it only refers to the exterior or interior elements of a space and looks at architecture as a part of art. However, since architecture is ultimately about designing spaces for people, it is close to the humanities, and architecture is older than engineering and art, so these two disciplines cannot encompass architecture. Therefore, to evaluate a space based on only visible visual elements such as how the wall and ceiling meet, how the finish is or how it is structurally, is to look at architecture only from an engineering and artistic point of view and not to understand the space properly.
-
Of course, analyzing the visual elements one by one and giving them a good experience in one way or another is not a sure way to appreciate a space, but there is no better way to make the space easier for readers to understand. However, what is certain is that the best way to understand a space is to experience it directly rather than to express and listen to the space by attaching various words. There, some look at the details of the building, some look at the people in the space, and some savor the moment when the warm sunlight that penetrates the window surrounds the space, and they talk about the good and bad of the space in their own way.
-
There is no need to explain that a space that gives a good #experience is a space that gives a good experience because many people start to experience the space from various perspectives and are naturally selected over time. A good space is because there is something powerful that cannot be fully expressed in words. So, when you go to a space where many people visit, regardless of whether they have architectural knowledge or not, everyone nods their heads and they begin to enjoy the space.

Whenever I stop by Gyeongbokgung Palace, even if I don't see the exhibition, I have to go to the “National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul”. Transportation to this place is not so good, but there are no stops or stations nearby, so it is a distance that you have to walk quite a bit more than you think. Nevertheless, it is crowded with many people every day.
-
I don't like places where there are a lot of people, so I always visit the art museum in time for the opening hours, but sometimes I unintentionally stop by after lunch time. At that time, children, lovers, and families were enjoying the space in the large open yard.
-
Is it necessary to explain the already verified space that many people are looking for by unraveling the visual elements one by one and explaining that this is why so many people gather for this and that?
-
I did not want to limit the emotions of many people to one by exposing visual elements in a space that is already loved by many people.
-
While I am writing on the topic of #a space that gives a good _experience, I think it is contradictory to not introduce the places I go to the most in Seoul, so I will introduce them this way.
-
PS =) I didn't want to limit your feelings by evaluating the space with my eyes on a building that is loved a lot. Even if you don't see the exhibition, you can enjoy the outdoor spaces provided here, so it's good to take a walk together. Before it gets colder, I hope you have a good experience at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul.
