Of course, if you invest time and money in the facilities and space used as a means of moving to another area, it will be better to use it elsewhere. But does that mean there are better things around us? I don't think it's either.

The initial cost may be burdensome, but I don't think it's a waste to invest in things, facilities, and space that are used and used frequently.

The space to introduce this time is 'Noksapyeong Station' in Itaewon. The large space dug deep underground, the skylights falling down to it, and the escalators crossing each other seem to see a subway station in the city of the future. If you look through the skylight, you should be able to see the planets in space, not the sky. It is different in scale and atmosphere compared to the normal subway stations we saw. There are many free spaces in various places, so you can easily enjoy the cultural space with various exhibitions.

Looking at the background of the birth of Noksapyeong Station, it was an environment in which a large space was inevitable. In 2000, the site near Noksapyeong Station was selected as the relocation site for the new city hall in Seoul, and this space was planned as a transportation hub to accommodate a large number of people. So this place was made on such a large scale.

Unfortunately, the relocation of the city hall was canceled and only the station was left alone, protecting it. It is an excessively large space compared to the surrounding facilities, and there are also voices of tax waste. However, thanks to such a spacious and comfortable subway station, we were able to see how cold and boring the existing subway station was. And as more people experience this place in the future, the level of public facilities directly related to us will be higher and we will feel that there should be more places like that.
