"Dan Rain in the Drought"
-
Nestled in the middle of Inwangsan Mountain, there is a space reminiscent of a villa in the mountains. Take bus 7212 and get off at the Yun Dong-ju Literature Museum, pass the poet's hill, and go up along the Hanyangdoseong Fortress. The scenery on the way there is interesting. You can see the Blue House, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the various layers created by overlapping mountains enrich the landscape. A rock in the middle creates an observatory so that you can see Gangbuk of Seoul at a glance, so the journey up to there is not boring.
-
This was originally a military post. Because the Blue House is directly visible, civilians were prohibited from entering the building for security and safety reasons. In recent years, as Mt. Bukak and Mt. Inwang were opened, the military facilities there were withdrawn, leaving the guard post as a shelter in the forest.
-
When I first saw the exterior of the building, the details of the material rather than the shape caught my attention. By arranging the wires in a grid and using them on the floor, railing, and roof, it is possible to keep the dusty place clean at all times. Therefore, the shape of the building can be read at a glance, and the shelter with a glass exterior looks cleaner and neater. At the entrance of the building, you can see a photo of the original appearance of the guard post, and it is interesting to compare the present and then.
-
When you step inside enjoying the neatly finished exterior, the thick smell of wood is penetrated through the mask. Without a single wall, the inside is covered with glass, so you can see the trees, mountains, and Seoul without any hanging lines. The interior finish is neat and the furniture is also used in a way that the wood can express well, so it's not spacious, but it's fun to look around and see. On one side of the space, there are books related to nature, so it is a really good environment to take a break.
-
As the Inwangsan and Bukaksan areas were opened to the public, the Hanyangdoseong Sunseong-gil was completed. It is only now that the environment in which you can enjoy the nature of Korea, which has many mountains, has been properly established. I climbed the mountain without any preparation, so I couldn't walk the entire Sunseong-gil, but if I have time later to climb the mountain properly and visit this place, I don't think it will be a better place than it is now. A shelter where you can sit comfortably and rest would be like a "dry rain in a drought" for novice hikers.
