Colmar, the setting for the background of Howl's Moving Castle.
I loved the scene where Sophie and Howl first meet and walk in the sky. It is said that Colmar is the background for this scene. The houses in Colmar have the kind of color and design that seems like it could only exist in a fairy tale. Uniquely, every house is painted in a different pastel tone, adding a colorful and individualistic charm.
In the center of the town, the small canal and bridges are highlights. The bridge is a representative photo spot in Colmar, allowing for life shots with the fairy-tale-like houses in the background. As you wander through the alleys, you'll find plenty of quaint accessory shops and dessert cafes, making it great to slowly enjoy and fully experience Colmar.
Another thing is that Colmar is famous for its Christmas. Deservedly called a Christmas star, the town becomes especially more beautiful during the Christmas season, so it's also a good idea to visit during this time, even though the clear summer is also nice.
