Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence
Florence, Italy • Entertainment
The Basilica di Santa Croce is the principal Franciscan church in Florence, Italy, and a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church. It is the richest medieval church in Florence, which features frescoes by Giotto, a chapel by Brunelleschi and one of the finest of all early Renaissance tombs. Michelangelo is buried in Santa Croce, as are Rossini, Machiavelli, and the Pisan-born Galileo Galilei.
It costs 8 Euros to enter and I would say if you love art and history, then it is worth visiting. However, if you don't have much interest in that or short on time, then it is okay to also skip this. There is a student discount for tickets so make sure you bring your ID*
