WAGYU-FOCUSED SPECIALTY COFFEE BAR WITH PREMIUM JAPANESE TREATS! ☕️🇯🇵

A new coffee haunt has popped up at South Beach Tower, and it’s giving us first-class vibes. 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗻 is a premium third-wave coffee bar that is inspired by co-owner Sam Chua’s travels in Japan. Sam is also the person behind Black Carvery Group, which runs blackcowsg and shatoburian. 🐄

The name Waga stands for wagyu beef and wagashi (or Japanese sweets). 🍬 Waga Waga is the way of life that Sam’s group embodies – the happiness you get from doing the things you love, especially when it comes to snacking. The café works with local coffee roaster 2degreesnorth to come up with an original house blend that is smooth and balanced with just a hint of acidity. We tried the 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱, which is their take on the iced white. A layer of foam is set on top and air is incorporated into the drink, showing the illusion of a ‘bubbling cloud’. ☁️

In the near future, they’ll also be featuring a special food menu that utilises the “less popular” cuts from their fine-dining counterparts, such as Wagyu-focused snacks and seasonal offerings following Japan’s agriculture calendar. How often do you get a café serving premium cuts of meat for their food! 🤩 Will definitely come back to try it out!
