Omakase is a traditional Japanese dining style in which the chef provides a meal entirely up to his/her discretion. Itβs a concept thatβs gaining popularity among the locals for its personalised preparation style and rare seasonal ingredients. π We never had one before, but we finally got the chance to try it for ourselves thanks to Fukui. βΊοΈ
The restaurant is co-founded by Eugenia & Emilia Tan who also own casual Japanese concept @kyuubeisg. This is probably our most expensive feature yet, with an Omakase set starting from $138++ for lunch. However, we have to admit, this is by far one of the most experiential meal we had, as weβre introduced to the limitless creativity of Head Chef @nickccppan and his team. ππ»
To get the fullest experience, we recommend coming with an open mind and be adventurous. Let your curiosity take over as you explore the spectrum of flavours for each dish thatβs served. π One of the most memorable segments was certainly the use of heated charcoal to gently sear the surface of the fish. This gives off an amazing smoky flavour that is elevated from the charred natural fatty oils. π€€
Needless to say, the restaurant goes by a strict reservation-only policy due to the exclusivity of the menu
