AUTHENTIC TAIWANESE FARE BY FORMER TAIWANESE ENGINEER! 🇹🇼🍛

While we’re still waiting for that Taiwan VTL, we’re just glad there’re some hidden gems we can turn to for our lu rou fan fix! 😅 Right next to WeWork Chinatown is a small and quaint 10-seater eatery that serves authentic Taiwanese fare! 🇹🇼

Although it was crunch time, we were greeted hospitably by the owner Morgan, who is a Taiwanese herself. The small space sports a rustic decor with vintage items all over the place, feels like we’re sent back to the 80s in one of the railway stations along Taiwan’s countryside. 📻

It’s a shame they were out of their 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲, but thankfully, they still got their 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗮. The flavour isn’t as impactful as the popular 阿宗麵線, but it’s meant to be lighter on the palette. The intestines don’t have a bad smell, and the broth is thick and satisfying! 🍜 The 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 is crunchy and addictive, not greasy at all! 🍗

As the crowd dispersed, Morgan even let us try her 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲 broth, which is full of umami and beefy spiciness! It’s similar to 紅燒牛肉麵 that is a common national dish in Taiwan. 🐄🍜 Really nice of her!
