POPULAR BASQUE BURNT CHEESECAKE CAFÉ BY OLIVIA RESTAURANT! 🧀🍰

Known for their take on Spanish cuisine, @oliviarestaurant_sg was one of the first to locally introduce their famous rendition of the Basque burnt cheesecake back in its peak popularity. 🧀 Today, the restaurant have opened their own cheesecake specialty shop, where diners can enjoy the ever-delicious dessert for themselves. 😍

Just a short 5-minute walk away, you can find Queic (which is pronounced as “cake”) with its striking golden and brown mosaic tiles that resembles a cheesecake. Their famous 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 comes in 3 different sizes - 4”, 6” and 9”. Each cake has a almond sablé pie crust as the base, and filled with super rich & creamy cream cheese mixed with Spanish blue cheese for that extra funky taste. 😳 The curd is too much of a liquid consistency though, but we heard that it’s just an issue with the batch we got as the cakes needed to be in the freezer long enough for it to set.

Aside from their signature cheesecake, they have other cheesy options that you can’t find anywhere else in the country! The 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 is almost the size of a mini cake, stuffed with orange yuzu compote, almond sponge and New York cheesecake filling. Surprisingly, the flavour isn’t as sharp despite its looks, but more of a creamy sweet taste. 🧀
