“Reconnect with nature”
-
In the past, there were many opportunities to get acquainted with nature. When it rained, I sat under the eaves, smelled the earth, listened to the sound of rain, climbed the mountain behind me to dig acorns, and felt the sound and texture of leaves breaking. At the riverside, he showed off his hunter's temperament, catching scallops by carefully moving back and forth on the slippery floor. Through nature, we have solved food, clothing and shelter, and that has not changed since then.
-
As urban life became more common than rural life, buildings taller than trees began to surround us. The grass and trees disappeared, and the cool river water disappeared into the ground. We naturally moved away from nature, and only if we had time to appreciate the smooth curves of the green fields and mountains. Solving food, clothing, and shelter through nature is the same as it was before and now.
-
Gardening and urban agriculture emerged in this context. And it is no coincidence that 'mrnw', which is called the future farm, which we will introduce today, appeared in front of us.
-
As a result of cutting out, transplanting, and relocating the garden plantings and trees to transform the farm that has been cultivated for over 20 years into a new place, three gardens with completely different atmospheres were created. And this garden provides an opportunity to get acquainted with nature again.
-
From a distance, a building armed with indigo pink sits on a flat ground with a mountain in the background. The inside of the building, which looks like a rock as it stands tall, is empty. In the West, emptying refers to the state of 'nothing', but in the East, emptying is seen as a space of 'being' that can accommodate countless things. Therefore, this place with a lot of vacancy comes to us as a complex cultural space where people can organically engage with various plants and various events.
-
The first space, called the Twin Gardens, purposefully raised the fence to create an environment where you can focus on nature. As the name suggests, the number and varieties of trees are the same, but the angle and amount of light that changes over time creates a completely different atmosphere even in the same space as Decalcomani.
-
The open courtyard and garden in the main building are not attractive in themselves. The charm of this place is the 'semi-exterior space' created thanks to the courtyard. The outdoor terrace, both outside and inside facing the courtyard, serves as an observatory and hallway, while providing a resting place to drink coffee and relax. Therefore, many people enjoy a break in the semi-outer space that faces the courtyard rather than the inner space, and enjoy the greenery of nature while looking at the garden.
-
Lastly, the pine garden allows you to navigate between the pine trees with a movement line created by lines that intersect multiple times. The wall is finished with a mirror to visually enlarge the space, and the pine trees and the expanded space meet to transform this place into a dreamy, ideal world. The rural warehouses we encounter while walking around reminds us of our primitive state where we were able to face nature anytime, anywhere, and take a picture of the current coordinates of the problems facing society today.
-
Ducks roam around the farm, adding to the mystery of nature, and you can see the forgotten scent of grass and soil, and the feast of bees roaming around the flowers.
-
Being able to appreciate the wonders of nature in one place is an irrefutable experience, but if you think about it again, it means that our surroundings are filled with only artificial things. So, this place has a bigger meaning for us.
-
This is 'mrnw' that shows how to get close to nature again.
