An unspoken rule that I like to follow is that you can't visit Italy, in this case Rome, and not have gelato! Giolitti is one of the most famous gelaterias and even possibly, the oldest in the city. They have a large variety of flavours but I suggest sticking with gelato if you can as the sorbets are particularly sweet (unless that's your liking!). The line forming out the door is for payments and once you get your receipt, approach the gelato cases and counter and push your way through! Don't be afraid to be assertive or else you will never get your cone haha
