Ci Siamo, located between MSG and Hudson Yards, opened in October 2021 to much fanfare. It is the long awaited, first new restaurant from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group since Tacocina and Manhatta’s openings in mid to late 2018, respectively. To be honest, I was skeptical of another Italian restaurant in another ultra ritzy development in Midtown, but we wanted something near MSG since we were attending a gig and truthfully, Ci Siamo hit it out of the park. From start to finish, everything was delicious, and service was super attentive and friendly. We ordered the warm and fluffy, yet crispy cast iron focaccia, mortadella, and caramelized onion torta to start, and shared the ultra rich rigatoni alla gricia and wood fired whole trout, all of which were astounding. It is a bit corporate feeling—the location and clientele— but if given the chance, I would go back tomorrow.
