Bantianyao Kaoyu
Jung-gu, Seoul • Restaurant
A battle with spicy fish, but I always lost. Mara lovers will go crazy over the visuals of Kaowei. It's a place I visit often because it's delicious. The fish meat has a slight earthy aroma, which is also charming. You can choose any soup to eat with Ningbo fish. I usually add vegetables, mushrooms, and fuju. 🔥The signature menu is Qinghuajiao Kaowei. A dish with spicy green chili peppers and numbingly spicy soup. The soup isn't red, and at first, you might think "It's not that spicy...?" but as it boils fiercely, the pepper aroma becomes stronger, making you gasp for air. (For reference, I feel the perfect spiciness level is that of Shin Ramyun when eating Malatang) 🔥Next, the popular menu is Mara Kaowei. Its color is so red it seems like it came from hell. What sin did I commit to be in it? The visual of Ningbo fish floating in hell. It was very delicious, but I had to pick out most of the peppers because it was too spicy. My friends who like spicy food glared at me, but I have to survive first, haha. This place is recommended for groups of 3-4 people. It's a lot of food for 2 people to eat fish with vegetables and mushrooms, and even 4 people will be very full if they add a variety of items. Had a great meal🐟
