Insoul
Yongsan-gu, Seoul • Restaurant
A fancy burger dish made with 1++ Hanwoo patty. Couldn't resist visiting due to the rave reviews about the place. The entrance that gives off a gallery vibe with its media art won me over from the get-go. The idea of presenting such a fresh experience while walking to the restaurant really resonated with me. Wonder if they change the media art according to different seasons!? The inside is too luxurious to merely be called a burger joint, fittingly, alcohol is essential for dinner. There's a large main table in the center, a few small tables around it, and in the interior, there are more cozy and comfortable seats available. It seems there's also a hidden room for regulars. Two menu items caught my eye: Salt Tartare and Wagyu Katsu Burger. Passed on the Wagyu Katsu Burger, which is sold at a high price of 69,000 won, due to it feeling somewhat burdensome. Ordered the Salt Tartare, a burger, and the too-tempting Loco Moco. The Salt Tartare is an interesting menu item where western-style tartare comes with salt bread. It leans more towards tangy than sweet, blending perfectly with the buttery flavor of the salt bread. The bread itself isn't exceptionally delicious, but it pairs wonderfully. However, taste preferences may vary. Ordered the Soul Burger, named after the store, which includes caramelized onions and rib seasoning in the burger. The patty's presence was so strong that the rib seasoning wasn't greatly felt. Just remembering it as delicious. Had concerns whether using Hanwoo for the burger patty was necessary or if it would be too greasy, but it was better than expected. Became curious about the Pepper Sauce Burger. However, the real highlight was the Loco Moco. The gravy sauce was deliciously different from what I've had abroad. Not to mention the taste of the Hanwoo Hamburg steak with a beautifully placed egg. Most surprising was the served pineapple that looked like Korean radish Kimchi! But seriously, it was charming. A menu that satisfied in taste, visuals, and surprise without missing anything.
