The Gelmerbahn slowly climbs the cliff at a breathtaking angle, with the bonus of viewing Lake Gelmer at the top. Capturing the thrill with a timelapse is a must! Booking in advance is highly recommended due to the popularity of the front seats, and it's advisable to arrive 30-60 minutes early to exchange your reservation printout for boarding tickets. Operating period: June to October. Operating hours: 9 AM to 5 PM in July and August, 9 AM to 4 PM in June, September, and October. Price: CHF 18 one-way, CHF 36 round-trip. Reservations: grimselwelt.ch | Ticket exchange at the entrance is a must. To secure a front seat, wait at least 30 minutes before departure. A full course walk around Lake Gelmer at the top is recommended, lasting 2-3 hours. Swimming is possible, restrooms available, no showers.
