Positive Space 566
Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi • Cafe
Positive Space 566 is a new, huge cafe in Gimpo. I went to see this cafe because there's a buzz about a massive cafe recently opened in Gimpo. It's not just large; it's gigantic, complete with an escalator inside. From the outside, it looks even bigger than some famous large supermarkets. Although I personally feel the term 'multi-cultural space' has become quite cliched these days, this place seems like it can't be described in any other way. It has a variety of unique seating and floor-by-floor distinct interior designs, along with an outdoor terrace. Deciding where to sit and have coffee can be a dilemma here. The cafe can accommodate 2,100 people.
The interior operates from the 1st to the 5th floor, with the 1st through 4th floors dedicated to cafe space and the 5th floor housing an art center where exhibitions are held. The 3rd floor has several rooms for private time, and the 4th floor includes a space for performances and bar-style tables. The facility allows for not just cafe space use but also for enjoying brunch and meals, much like a giant shopping mall space. It felt like a space popular among family customers in Gimpo, and it wouldn't hurt to experience walking around the spacious venue. Do note that the menu prices are on the higher side.
- Basic coffee beans used are blends.
I ordered an Americano, and I was able to enjoy a coffee with a very light acidity and richness.
The music at Positive Space 566 is jazz-based, which is a good selection. However, considering its capacity to accommodate a large number of people, instrumental music without lyrics might be more appropriate. Fortunately, the music selection complements the atmosphere of the space.
