Lake Powell, the second largest man-made lake in the United States, was created by the Glen Canyon Dam. Entering the visitor center of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, you can see the history and models of Glen Canyon Dam, and it also provides a good introduction to the major tourist attractions of Arizona and Utah. Going outside, you can directly view the actual appearance of the dam by walking across the bridge opposite.
