Is it a good sign when a restaurant is filled with elderly couples? An old couple heading for a meal nearby. This place was bustling with families coming for gatherings. As soon as we sat down, the kind-hearted old manager generously offered us a plate of sourdough and salami. A potato gratin, overly filled with deliciously flavored cheese and baked in the oven. The Dover sole meuniere was too good. The octopus in the chorizo polpo salad had just the right doneness and texture.. It was the faithfulness to the basics without any fancy techniques that made this place even better.
