As a child, did anyone else obsessively watch 'Little Dinosaur Dino' like I did? That series was literally my entire childhood, eagerly waiting for new episodes and then running to the nearest video store to rent them. I'd even pretend to be Năm Căn, mimicking scenes and eating just like in the series, haha. Then there was a time when I was so fascinated by dinosaurs, wherever I went, I would make my dad buy me a toy dinosaur, which I would name 'Long Neck', 'Three Horns', 'Chatterbox'... turning my room into a mini Jurassic Park without even realizing it. That childhood passion was deeply hidden until one day, I visited this place and it felt like returning to my childhood. Saurus Coffee & Gallery is the first dinosaur model exhibit-cum-coffee shop in Saigon. Entering the cafe, you're greeted by a gigantic long-necked dinosaur reaching up to the third floor. After ordering, you can either sit on the ground floor or head up to the third via the elevator. The second floor is a high-end dinosaur model exhibit that is quite fascinating. After exploring, it's time for a 'bellyful' experience. I was impressed that a coffee shop could offer well-prepared food with decent flavors. Saurus Volcano Fried Rice comes with a silky egg underneath, served with flying fish roe and hot shredded chicken on a cast-iron pan, perfectly seasoned. Saurus Burger, with its dark, mysterious bamboo charcoal bun enveloping the rich, chewy meat inside. Five Cheese Pizza, which can be enjoyed with honey or kiwi syrup – a sour-sweet syrup that makes the pizza more appealing without being too heavy. There's also the aesthetically pleasing Dinosaur Egg dish, perfectly in line with the cafe's concept. For drinks, I prefer the sweet and fragrant Banana Peach Smoothie, the sweet and sour Watermelon Kombucha perfect for health, and the rich, sweet, but not overwhelming Purple Sweet Potato Smoothie. Especially now, there's a promotion where a bill from 450k gets you a cute, cuddly dinosaur plushie.
