Yongsan's café street is largely divided into 'Yongridangil', located between Sinyongsan and Samgakji stations, and the 'Maintenance Depot Area' near Yongsan Station and I'Park Mall. Despite Yongridangil's recent popularity, people looking for delicious coffee still visit the 'Maintenance Depot Area'. Among them, Travertine is known as a leading café in Yongsan. The space, transformed from an old single-story house, might easily be overlooked by those who haven’t seen a picture of its exterior. The absence of a prominent sign is curious, considering the crowd the café attracts. The café is noteworthy for its fresh and unique taste of coffee, roasting in partnership with La Cabra from Denmark, known for its smooth acidity and light roast, though this might not appeal to everyone. However, being able to experience the taste of Nordic roast is a major strength. Additionally, the use of 'Travertine', a type of limestone with an impressive brown-toned pattern as flooring, and the placement of a large piece of travertine in the center, creates a space well-matched with the café's name. The interior design, with its understated natural colors and low brightness, combined with natural light coming through the windows, creates a cozy atmosphere. This space, seamlessly blending into the streets of Yongsan with its unassuming quality and taste, is why Travertine continues to be loved among the burgeoning café scene. RECEIPT Brewing - Kenya Ndaroini Washed: Known for its light roast, I tried the renowned Kenyan coffee, famous for its diverse flavors. It exhibits hints of tomato, along with the sweet aroma of herbs and caramelized caramel, adding flavor. The light roast finishes smoothly, which was enjoyable.
