Samdacozy
Mapo-gu, Seoul • Cafe

Samdasoo flagship store. I visited with high expectations because all the menu items are made with Samdasoo and Jeju ingredients, and it was really as satisfying as I hoped. Right upon entering, a big palm tree and a stone wall built with Jeju basalt give a full Jeju vibe. The names like Gyulbitbrilliant and Samda Greek Bowl were a bit unfamiliar at first, but seemed to well represent the uniqueness of this place, and above all, they were very delicious! The basement operates as a hand-drip bar, where they make coffee directly with Samdasoo and provide excellent explanations about the beans, making a cup of coffee feel not just like any ordinary cup (the beans are also roasted in Jeju!). Samdasoo is seamlessly integrated throughout the space without feeling overwhelming, and it doesn’t feel like a heavily marketing-focused cafe, so it seems like a place I will visit often without hesitation.
