Namsan Public Library
Yongsan-gu, Seoul • Culture
The 'Namsan Sky Garden', an outdoor relaxation space created in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the opening of Namsan Library last month, has opened. The Namsan Sky Garden is a space made by reprocessing discarded banners and clothing into architectural materials to create convenience facilities such as desks and chairs. As can be seen in the photos, it looks neat and splendid despite being made from recycled materials. Thus, through a public institution like the library, more people can directly experience recycled architecture, which might enhance the awareness of resource circulation in an era of climate crisis. With the added bonus of enjoying the beautifully autumn-tinted Namsan view, this place seems like a paradise for Seoulites, allowing them to enjoy the seasons through the window while reading indoors.
