Homeground Coffee Roasters
Central, Singapore • Cafe
Singapore's coffee enthusiasts' favorite cafe, 'Homeground Coffee Roasters' Recently participated as a guest barista at Busan Momos and ranked third in the 2022 World Brewers Cup Championship, 'Elysia Tan' runs the cafe. Started as a pop-up shop in July 2018 and operated for four years in Joo Chiat Road, it has newly opened on Teo Hong Road near Chinatown this year. Homeground serves as a cafe but also offers high-quality brunch and food. Both 13 and 15 Teo Hong Road on the first floor of a large building facing Teo Hong Road are Homeground. 13 is the cafe, and 15 is the entrance to the pop-up store. In Singapore, where it rains a lot, the first floor is recessed, creating an eave across the facade, an idea that stands out. Entering through each entrance, the interior spaces are connected in a 'ㄷ' shape, with a bar table in the center of the cafe, and it is divided into two large areas. The interior, which could be deep and monotonous, gains richness through skylights. Unlike the rough feel of other cafes visited, the space feels delicately soft with wood and soft colors.
