"FOCUS 2023": A Glimpse into Everyday Life as Interpreted by Four Artists

The <FOCUS 2023> exhibition, introduced at the end of 2022, serves as a platform for PBG to showcase works of potential and nurture emerging artists. Originating from the group exhibition <The Beginning>, which featured young artists actively participating in both domestic and international art communities at the beginning of the year, Focus is a series that highlights four promising young artists: Chansong Kim, Abang, Jaemin Lee, and Mingyoung Ji in one venue.

This exhibition has been meticulously curated with artists who have a clear sculptural language of their own. The audience can explore a variety of pieces from Chansong Kim, who has long worked on the theme of the body; Abang, who portrays figures with dreamlike and vibrant colors; Jaemin Lee, who incorporates autobiographical stories into his work with delicate sensibility; and Mingyoung Ji, who explores the sculpturality of people and landscapes with ink wash.

These four artists each explore personal narratives through different lenses and construct their unique pictorial language in the process.
