This family-run business has been growing, harvesting, and processing coconuts for over a 100 years! We had the opportunity to make our own coconut oil the old-fashioned way by using heat. This was a super fun process - we extracted the coconut milk ourselves and patiently heated it, watching how it changed textures multiple times before becoming oil. Today, The Coconut Museum/Spaco supplies many cosmetic companies and makes all their own products from cold-pressed oil which is the superior method 😊 At this workshop we also made a traditional Thai dessert from coconut milk, coconut sugar, rice flour, and starch which was exceptional! And no I'm not just saying that cause I made it from scratch haha This entire program was SO FUN! I highly recommend paying them a visit 🤍
