Togetsukyo Bridge
Kyoto Prefecture, Japan
Togetsukyo Bridge's name comes from a poem by Emperor Kameyama, saying, 'It looks as if a clear, cloudless moon is crossing.' The scenery is excellent, and it's quite windy. Kyoto's weather is so fickle, seeing such a blue sky isn't easy. In autumn, the Maple leaves, and in spring, the cherry blossoms bring a huge crowd. Throughout Kyoto, there are traces of people from the Korean Peninsula. Above Togetsukyo Bridge, upstream, there's a small levee built by descendants of the Silla people, the Hata clan, around 1500 years ago, in the late 5th century.
