King of Coconut
Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon • Restaurant
This place, read as 'Coconut King' in Korean, can truly be called the king of street food. A significant number of people passing by Mongkok Street hold one of these coconut beverages. 'King of Coconut' uses Thai and Malaysian coconuts, and they make a fresh coconut drink as soon as you order, making it seem like an oasis to the exhausted passerby. The cans displayed in front of the stall are 'Black & White Unsweetened Condensed Milk', which upgrades the potentially bland taste of coconut water to a rich, savory taste without making it sweet. The price for one 330ml to-go is 29 HKD. Despite the fluctuating local prices, it has maintained the same price for several years. As with most Hong Kong street food, it only accepts cash. The only downside of this place is the excessively long waiting time.
