The sight of water streaming down from the cliffs of the Biei River gorge, resembling a white beard, has given the waterfall its name. It's said to be beautiful in summer, but the view in winter felt more spectacular. The flow of water through the white snow and ice, set against the backdrop of distant snow-capped mountains, suited the name ‘White Beard Falls’ even more. 🏔️❄️🌊
