Cafe Soom
Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi • Cafe
Cafe Soom is a new large café located near Namhansanseong. It's placed in a quiet village, seemingly becoming a hotspot. The second floor is made of full-length windows, offering a sense of openness and a simple atmosphere that personally fits my taste. They serve bakery products, and the spacious outdoor terrace would be nice to visit in spring. I arrived a bit early before the opening time, asked for permission to take pictures, and was kindly treated by the manager, making for a pleasant morning. I'd like to express my gratitude once again for their consideration during their busy preparations for opening.
The interior operates a main building and an annex, with the main building spanning first to second floors, and the annex connected on the second floor. The annex has a different atmosphere, but personally, I preferred the main building. Both the main and annex buildings have kids zones, making it a good spot for families. Despite Namhansanseong being crowded even on weekdays, there are many weekend visitors. Cafe Soom can be a great choice for a weekend date or a family outing.
📍Beans
-They are using a blend.
📍Coffee
I ordered an Americano, which had a balance of richness and a profound taste rather than flamboyance. I enjoyed the coffee.
📍Music
The music at Cafe Soom is mainly POP. The selection mostly consists of calm tracks, excluding fast-paced ones. Though POP is enjoyable, instrumental jazz or piano pieces without vocals could also complement the simple space. Nowadays, instrumental music is prevalent in large cafes for a reason: it serves as background music without interrupting conversations on busy weekends.
