The 'Triangle Market', a seafood market located right in front of Otaru Station, has a local feel of a neighborhood market that has been around for a very long time. The famous dish here is 'Kaisendon' (seafood over rice), which is said to taste amazing due to the freshness of the ingredients, thanks to the nearby sea🌊 Otaru is the setting for the manga 'Mr. Sushi King'🍣🥢 I visited the most famous restaurant in the market and was able to secure a seat without waiting due to my early arrival. The restaurant's name is 'Kitano Donburi at Takinami Shoten'. There aren't many tables, so there's almost always a wait during the tourist season or on weekends... There are various types of Kaisendon, and you can choose seafood to your preference by looking at the menu pictures. (Prices vary depending on the seafood) I chose a menu that included a variety of fresh seafood like tuna, salmon, sweet shrimp, sea urchin, and salmon roe. Even though I usually skip breakfast, the variety and freshness of the seafood were delicious, and I very much enjoyed my meal🐟🦐😋 I recommend having warm crab miso soup as well🦀👍🏻
