SIDOLI RADIO 小島裡
Taipei, Taiwan • Cafe
小島裡 (Sidoli Radio) makes you feel like you time travelled back into the 80s.
It’s designed like a chic retro lounge, an old school radio studio, an art gallery interwoven into one space.
Upon entrance, you’re handed a random cassette tape, that also envelopes the menu, for you to take to your table and mull over what to order. It seems like a good place to get some work done, or to read. They’ve got neat magazines on shelves to accompany your stay.
There’s also a tiny staircase leading to the wonder of a basement. Rows of cassettes line the walls, they’re a mix of retro tapes, and newer ones (you can buy some of them too!) And all the way at the end of the tunnel, staring back at you, is a neon sign that reads “where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” Point taken, it’s a sign.
