SLOWBOAT Atelier

Today's space for a welcoming journey
Expressing a Jeju-like building, it is designed to remind one of a citrus warehouse placed atop a stone wall. It is located by the peaceful northern coast of Jeju, allowing for a pleasing view of fishing boats moving leisurely.
The keyword that runs through Cafe Slow Boat, which was a photographer's studio, is photography. The space is organized so that the photographer's favorite photo books and exhibition works become its content.
Through photo books, one can encounter the perspectives and philosophies of domestic and international masters, a valuable opportunity. Even if one is not interested in photography, it's a comfortable place related to the sea where one can fully enjoy the given time.
Slow Boat has a mezzanine structure, simply put, a concept of a duplex. It is a structure created between the first floor and the second floor or the ceiling, a method for using a small space efficiently. The stairs connecting the floor and the upper level add a sense of dimension to the space.
The ocean view from the second floor, favored by many, was designed based on the photographer's favorite panorama frame. Sitting on the sofa and quietly watching the gently undulating sea surface seems to slow down the time of the heart.
The reason the author loves this place lies in its consistency and inclusiveness. Despite the ever-changing weather conditions of Jeju, it maintains a consistent atmosphere. Visitors can calmly enjoy photos and scenery in a leisurely space no matter when they visit. Slow Boat provides a cozy background to today's time, serving as a welcoming space aiding the smooth journey of travelers.
