Lan Fong Yuen
Central and Western District, Hong Kong Island • Restaurant
Located in Soho, Lan Fong Yuen (蘭芳園) is a testament to Hong Kong's cha chaan teng culture. Entering its narrow and shabby space, where there's hardly any interior to speak of, one is surprised to see it bustling with people, often with no seats available. Famous for its silk stocking milk tea, which is actually brewed using a long silk bag, resembling stockings. The menu includes hearty breakfast options like French toast, hamburgers, char siu rice, and macaroni soup, complemented perfectly with a cup of milk tea. Known as a favorite spot of celebrities like Chow Yun-fat and Leslie Cheung, the most photos you'll find on the wall are of Alan Tam, revealing the owner's admiration. Closed on Sundays.
