Inamjang Euljiro Main
Jung-gu, Seoul • Restaurant
Since its opening in 1977, this seolleongtang (Korean ox bone soup) restaurant has been heading towards half a century of operation. While it may have several branches here and there, it is not just any seolleongtang chain but a respected establishment with a deep-rooted history and tradition. Recently, its Samsung branch gained fame after being featured on Sung Si-kyung's eating show.
Seolleongtang (Special)
What makes the dish special is not just its milky and rich broth but also the meat. The difference in price between the regular seolleongtang and the special is noticeable, and one can understand why by examining the meat. Rising above the soup like a steak, the meat, free of any gamey taste, melts softly in your mouth. A substantial piece of ox tongue is also included. This meat, satisfying even for those who typically dislike meat in water, can stand alone as a remarkable dish.
With its abundant meat generosity that seems never to dwindle and its rich and clean broth, along with delicious radish kimchi and kimchi enhancing the flavor of seolleongtang, it is highly recommended to try the special seolleongtang if it's your first visit.
