Taronga Zoo Sydney
New South Wales, Australia • Entertainment
A zoo with a view of the sea. Taking a ferry from Circular Quay, one arrives precisely 12 minutes later. Being close to the city, it attracts the most tourists among the four zoos near Sydney. The vast 290,000 hectare site is home to more than 3,000 animals, including Australian wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, as well as lions, tigers, and elephants. There is also a sheep shearing show at the event site. Particularly, as it is adjacent to the coastline, this place, named 'Taronga - a place with a beautiful view of the water,' allows for an impressive view of the beautiful harbor. When moving around the large zoo, using the Sky Safari, a type of cable car, makes transportation easier. The Wild Ropes, only operational in summer, offers an adventurous experience with a thrill not commonly found in zoos, but it is not always available. Zoo admission is much cheaper when purchased online than on-site, and selecting products that combine round-trip ferry tickets with admission allows for a more affordable visit.
