Andongjip Son Kalguksi
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul • Restaurant

Kyungdong Market's Andong House Hand-Cut Noodles are located in the market's underground food court. Despite being in a market, the restaurant is famous for its delicious noodles. It's always bustling with market vendors or shoppers, but it's quieter on weekend mornings. The market's unique structure, where food is cooked outside, cannot be seen anywhere else. The menu is simple yet powerful. Yellow 'jorap' (a kind of side dish) is served alongside, creating a perfect match with the provided soybean paste and cabbage. There are two types of noodles: hand noodles and strained noodles. The difference is that hand noodles are eaten with the water they were boiled in, whereas strained noodles are served with broth poured over them after boiling, topped with seaweed and served with crunchy Chinese cabbage. The noodles contain 40% beans, making them savory. It's a must-visit for anyone going to Kyungdong Market.
