Otonashi Water Park
Tokyo, Japan • Park

Once you come out of Oji Station, the Otonashi Water Park stretches out right in front. I found this quiet place after seeing a picture on a blog. It's a bit away from the center of Tokyo. A walking path and a park along a small stream are very tranquil and the scenery is mysteriously charming, making it quite enjoyable. Moreover, the sight of trains passing over the park enhances the feeling as though you’ve stepped into a rural area in Japan, despite being in Tokyo. I visited around sunset, but it seems it would be even better to come for a morning walk. It's said to be even more beautiful in spring when cherry blossoms bloom along the path, making it a great alternative walking route in Tokyo.
