Dazaifu Tenmangu, the sanctuary of learning and culture in Fukuoka, was founded in 919 and is an important cultural property of Japan. It's accessible within 40 minutes by bus from Fukuoka, making it a prime suburban tourist spot. As a shrine dedicated to the god of learning, it is famous for attracting many visitors each year who pray for academic achievements or exam success. Despite the crowds, it's a place where you can fully experience Japanese culture.
