As a former architecture student, I have always liked green buildings. I love how it shows Singapore as a thoughtful country where architecture meets nature. We did not forgo the idea of what’s before.

One of the green buildings that caught my eye is EDEN by Heatherwick Studio. This Green Mark Platinum residential building is designed to have natural ventilation. The first apartment is located at a height of 23 metres above ground while the layout of each apartment has windows opening into the central space. This allows for natural ventilation that reduces the need for mechanical climate control and saves energy. This might not be commonly known to people but it’s definitely shows the impact the built environment can have in everyone’s daily lives as it is where we work, live and play!
