Swimming in a dreamy sea of clouds

Even when at the location, it felt like a dream, and thinking back now, it still feels like a fantasy, the one place that comes to mind is the Salar de Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia. The refreshingly blue color and white clouds, with the landscape stretching endlessly both above and below, make you feel as though you've entered a mirror world, experiencing an unfamiliar surrealism. Many people visit this steadily loved location in South America and have captured the landscape on foot. I hope you will join in these fantastic moments that will never come again.

- Live & Tour Information

Generally, accommodations are arranged in the village of Uyuni, and the salt flat tours are conducted through reservations with tour companies and vehicular movements. The tour companies are densely located in the alleys of Uyuni village, and you can freely choose one. Once the number of tourists required for a tour is reached, they depart at a set time. Here's a tip: as Koreans tend to take good photos, it’s recommended to find companions in advance and align schedules through open chat rooms or cafes.

- Types of Tour

There are four main types: Day / Sunset / Starlight / Sunrise tours. Each tour takes about 4-6 hours. It takes approximately 30-40 minutes just to head towards the salt flats from the village. Enjoy the daytime landscape with a Day tour, both sunset and stars with a Sunset tour, stars and the Milky Way with a Starlight tour, and everything including sunrise with a Sunrise tour.

- Peak Season = Rainy Season

The peak travel season in South America, from December to March, corresponds to the rainy season in the Uyuni Desert. Therefore, as in the photo, thanks to the cloudy environment, one can capture romantic and cozy pictures. The daytime landscape tends to be especially beautiful, while at night, the abundance of clouds makes it difficult to capture stars or the Milky Way. The dry season begins after March, entering into winter, drying the ground, and unlike the rainy season, clean photos can be obtained at night. Choose your travel time according to your preference.

- Preparing colorful outfits and accessories results in more impressive photos. Consider various poses and items to leave behind photos that will last forever. Note that the high salt concentration in the water can splash around, so it's recommended to wear disposable or comfortable clothing. Precious clothes should be kept neatly in a suitcase.

Utilizing car windows or walking inside structures can also yield unique images. If you're traveling with companions, taking turns holding the camera can help capture the photos you desire. Alternatively, sitting on a chair and quietly appreciating the horizon can also be a nice experience. Enjoy the moment in your own way.
