Shin Sekai "New World"
Osaka Prefecture, Japan • Entertainment

Shinsekai, or 'New World' in English, holds an aura reminiscent of Osaka's past, marked by its creation in 1903 for the Osaka Exhibition. With attractions like the Luna Park and Tsutenkaku Tower, inspired by Paris' Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower, it flourished as Osaka's entertainment hub. Despite its decline post-World War I and the closure of Luna Park and dismantling of Tsutenkaku, the area saw rejuvenation in 1953 with the tower's reconstruction. Present-day Shinsekai, with its arcade-filled streets hosting pubs and Kushikatsu restaurants, embodies a unique blend of history and liveliness, attracting a diverse crowd. Shinsekai's essence of retaining its charm amid change resonates with those holding onto memories, making it a timeless 'New World'.
