Heuleus
Konkuk University, Seoul โข Cafe
Hureut is a cafe located in Hwayang-dong, near Konkuk University. If you get off at Konkuk University Station and pass through the Food Alley, you can find a residential area full of one-room apartments, where Hureut is located. Rather than using various adjectives, it feels predominantly calm and warm. Recently, they expanded to the adjacent space, making more seats available than before. The furniture in wood tones sets the tempo of the space, and it seems to be attractive that, besides coffee, there are many types of teas and desserts to enjoy. The window seats with a view of the Saemaul Geumgo can accommodate about four people, and seem to be a nice spot for reading or working.
The interior now includes not only 3-4 tables from the original space but also sofa seats and bar tables in the extended area. The owner's service was very kind. I've noticed that when I visit cafes that are open on Mondays, I rarely see people with bright expressions early Monday morning. So, it's true that I become somewhat cautious before visiting. However, the Hureut owner greeted us kindly even before opening time, making my Monday morning pleasant. I truly thank you.
๐ Beans
-Currently using a blend with a nutty flavor and light acidity.
๐Coffee / Dessert
I ordered an Americano and Sangju dried persimmon cream cheese, and the Americano had such light acidity that I don't think it would divide opinions. The Sangju dried persimmon cream cheese, a menu with a day's worth of nuts and cream cheese added to Sangju dried persimmons, is said to be the most popular menu at Hureut. It would be good to try it at least once.
๐Music
Hureut's music is painted with jazz performances. The genre selection is excellent. It was the morning, so it might have been why, but you could see it filled with relatively bright jazz performances. It seems to be playing a YouTube playlist of easy listening jazz. Although I also prefer bright tunes for morning-afternoon music selections, given the space's tone is closer to calmness, it would be nice if the music tempo was a bit more subdued.
