Gyoza-dokoro Sukemasa - Takatsuji Main Shop
Kyoto Prefecture, Japan • Restaurant
Kyoto is known for gyoza! A Michelin Bib Gourmand gyoza restaurant utilizing high-quality ingredients from Kyoto. The best part is the set menu centered around gyoza! There's a menu with a few side dishes and gyoza, and another with twice the amount of gyoza.
Menu
Since it's a gyoza restaurant, I ordered the set menu with two rows of gyoza. The first bite felt just like any ordinary gyoza. But eating two rows didn't feel heavy at all and instead, the umami of the filling became more pronounced, making it tastier. Especially the soy sauce and chili oil that come with it are exactly to my taste. With such seasonings, I could even eat three or four rows!?
The gyoza tasted slowly seeping rather than overly stimulating. Therefore, it might surprisingly not suit everyone's taste. Personally, I really loved it and was able to have a very delicious meal. It's a great gyoza restaurant for a simple meal or to have a beer. There were seats available on a weekday evening when I went, but note there might be waiting times during weekends or busy periods.
