Cafe Gabaedo
Jung-gu, Seoul • Cafe
The 'Gabedo Namdaemun Market Branch' is the only Hanyang Jeolchung-style (a combination of traditional Korean decorations and Western architectural style) hanok commercial building in downtown Seoul, built in the early 1900s between Sungnyemun and Namdaemun Market. It's a modern cultural heritage site where you can experience the era through its restoration and preservation. On the first floor of the Namdaemun Market branch, a small shop introduces nostalgic candies, and the second floor serves as the main hall to welcome visitors. The wooden ceiling that retains its style and the red brick interior and exterior, along with the matching wooden furniture, exude warmth. Gabedo offers its signature menu of Gabae, Cortado, Bumbong, and Carajillo, along with desserts like chocolate, matcha, earl grey, and injeolmi tiramisu.
