Puffing Billy🚂, a steam locomotive with a history of over 100 years, also served as inspiration for Thomas and Friends. It is operated by over 300 volunteers, including station staff and locomotive engineers. Some have been repairing and operating the train for over 50 years! It operates every day except Christmas, and according to the engineer, it runs even when lightning strikes. Sitting on the open window deck, you can admire the green nature of Dandenong, known as Melbourne's lungs. Along the way, you can also see the cute gestures of residents waving at the train :) 📌 Section Belgrave - Lakeside Check-in ends 30 minutes before boarding time, but it's best to arrive a little earlier to secure a good seat. When departing from Belgrave, sit on the right, and from Lakeside on the left, to best view the famous Trestle Bridge as the train rounds the curve!
