Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu - Kyoto Station
Kyoto Prefecture, Japan • Restaurant

Kyoto Katsugyu is a popular gyukatsu restaurant located in Kyoto, Japan, drawing in many visitors, including locals. It has gained enough popularity to have four branches in Korea, all situated within the capital region, leaving many yet to try it. The Kyoto Station branch is a ten-minute walk from Kyoto Tower and features five tables, a bar, and a large table that can accommodate up to eight solo diners. Ordering the Wagyu Katsu Set + Soft-Boiled Dashi Egg comes with rice, soup, gyukatsu, and a variety of dipping sauces. The gyukatsu is served medium, but personal grills are provided for further cooking to taste, a feature perhaps unique to the Kyoto Station branch. Despite the buzz and crowd, some may find the taste quite standard, but it's worth a try at least once.
