Mido Cafe
Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon • Restaurant
Contrary to rumours of its closure, Mido Cafe still operates in a corner of Yau Ma Tei. It appears the first floor does not serve customers, and seating is available only on the second floor. Though a sign reads 'No Photos Please,' it seems not strictly enforced. The owner speaks a bit of English, facilitating orders, and an English menu is prepared for the many tourists visiting. The most commonly ordered item is the greasy French toast, but we opted for the tomato beef soup / Mido signature stir-fried noodles and fried rice instead. Ordering cola comes with a slice of lemon. Both the price and taste were better than expected at the historic Mido Cafe!
